Those are beautiful! I like the small crocus species better than Crocus vernus.
I had to translate this one because "Vogel" was the last name of one of my grandmothers (her father was from the part of Switzerland that is near Germany). I never knew that it meant bird.
P.S. to Britta - I took some garden photos today and uploaded them to my Flickr, if you'd like to see. Some of the photos in this set are from last year - I was surprised at how much earlier the narcissus were last year!
